You can rest assured that when you donate money to Born to Run Foundation it will be used directly in the following areas:

  1. Type 1 diabetes research projects aimed at finding a cure to the disease. We will be working closely with JDRF to identify the most promising areas of research to fund.
  2. The clinical trials and development of exT1D, to enable it to be further developed and delivered to help people with Type 1 diabetes safely incorporate exercise into their lives.
  3. The development of a mentor based fitness support program for people with diabetes, which will be known as Fitness Friends.

The Born to Run Foundation operates on a very low overhead structure, and is developing sources of income other than donations to cover its operating costs. Our ultimate aim is to ensure that over 90% of all donations received go directly to  research and programs to assist people with diabetes.

For example the costs of ,mounting our “5 deserts” challenge, are entirely funded from sources other than donations.

A full and transparent accounting of the sources and uses of all funds will be published in the Foundations first annual report.
